1950
Our history began in York where Charles S. Seligman, CPA, originally established the firm. Subsequently, Aaron Nathanson became his partner, and the firm operated under the name Seligman and Nathanson. 1956
Murray D. Friedman, CPA, became Managing Shareholder upon the withdrawal of Mr. Nathanson, and the firm operated under the name Seligman and Company. 1961
The firm changed its name to Seligman, Friedman & Company, P.C. and operated as such for 46 years. 1973
An office was established in the Harrisburg area. 1994
A merger with Levy, Blumenthal, Piper & Company created the State College office.
The firm organized a subsidiary, SFC Asset Management, Inc., to handle the financial planning and investment advisory needs of its clients.
James A. Smeltzer, CPA, ABV, transitioned into the role of Firm Managing Shareholder. 1999
Founder, Charles S. Seligman, CPA, passed away. 2001
Murray D. Friedman, CPA, retired from the firm. 2002 Robert S. Freed, CPA, CFE, assumed leadership as Firm Managing Shareholder. 2007
The firm’s name was shortened to SF&Company. 2008 John J. Cardello, CPA, assumed the duties of Firm Managing Shareholder. 2009
A merger with Dotzel & Company, Inc. strengthened the firm’s presence in York. 2010
