NEW CREDENTIALS:

Arleen Steiner, CPA, CVA, a Senior Manager at SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, has earned the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) with the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.  To receive this credential, she was required to meet rigorous standards of professionalism, expertise, objectivity, and integrity in the fields of business valuation and litigation consulting.  Ms. Steiner is a member of SF & Company’s Business Valuation and Litigation Support Team with twenty-one years of experience providing forensic accounting services and expert witness testimony in local courts of law.

Pamela J. Evans, CPA, has achieved the designation of Certified Public Accountant by successfully passing the required exams and gaining the necessary years of professional experience.  She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from York College of PA and has extensive non-profit experience, having worked for local, state, and national non-profit organizations.  Ms. Evans is currently a Staff Accountant who provides auditing, accounting, and tax services through the York office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.  She previously held this position at Dotzel and Company prior to the merger of the two firms.

PRESENTATION:

Joseph T. Kolarik, CPA, MBA, recently gave a presentation to the Financial Planning Association of Central PA at the Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey Hotel.  With an audience of financial planning professionals and insurance brokers, he discussed current tax issues and tax planning strategies for individual taxpayers and closely held businesses.  As Tax Director for SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, Mr. Kolarik is responsible for coordination of tax research and compliance issues, tax policy and procedural matters, and tax continuing education for the firm’s staff members.

COMMUNITY POSITIONS:

Matthew P. Conrad, CPA, a Senior Manager at the State College office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, has been appointed to the Finance Committee of the Centre County United Way.  He is also a member of that organization’s Young Leaders Group, which supports the United Way’s mission to improve the quality of life in Centre County.  Mr. Conrad has over fifteen years of public accounting experience and specializes in serving clients in the construction industry, as well as owners of small and medium-size businesses. 

Krista A. McCullough, CPA, has been elected as the 2010 Treasurer for the York Young Professionals, an organization that provides networking and social opportunities and connects its members to the community through volunteer efforts and civic participation.  Its mission is to serve as a catalyst for progress in making the city of York a more enjoyable and vibrant place to live, work, and play.  Ms. McCullough is a Senior Accountant at the York office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, where she focuses on serving clients in the construction industry.

NEW HIRES:

Katie M. Shaull, CPA, has been hired as a Senior Accountant at the York office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.  A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, she is experienced in the preparation of financial statements and tax returns for estates, individuals, partnerships, and corporations.  Ms. Shaull previously worked for Flickinger & Co., LLC, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Department of Energy.  Her work history also includes internships at Osram Sylvania Inc. and W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company.

Amanda K. M. Smith has joined the Harrisburg office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, as a Senior Accountant.  She brings to the firm four years of public accounting experience at ParenteBeard LLC where she handled SEC engagements and prepared financial statements. Her responsibilities at SF & Company will include audit, review, and compilation assignments, as well as preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, and non-profit tax returns.  Ms. Smith is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. 

Jared A. Bradley has been hired as a Staff Accountant, Level I at the Harrisburg office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.  He attended Shippensburg University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  While there, Mr. Bradley completed two successful internships with accounting firms in York and Frederick, MD.

PROMOTIONS:

M. Nicholas (Nick) Greyshock, CPA, CCIFP, has recently been promoted to Senior Manager and leader of the Construction Practice Group at SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.  He holds the designation of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) and is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association and the C.O.R.E. Task Force of Associated Builders and Contractors.  Mr. Greyshock supervises audit, review, and compilation engagements, as well as the preparation of corporate tax returns, for construction companies in the central Pennsylvania region.

Julie A. Felpel, CPA, has earned a promotion to Manager at the York office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, where she has been employed since 2003.  A graduate of York College of PA and Leadership York, she prepares financial statements and tax returns and specializes in auditing pension plans and employee benefit plans.  Ms. Felpel is active in the community, serving as treasurer for the YWCA of York and a board and finance committee member for Family Child Resources, Inc.

Michael G. Wilhelm, CPA, has been promoted to Staff Accountant, Level III at the York office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.  A graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, he joined the firm in 2007 following a semester-long internship.

Christopher M. Frederick has received a promotion to Staff Accountant, Level III.  He is a 2007 graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a major in Accounting and a minor in Business Administration.  After a successful internship, he became a member of the Harrisburg office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.

Julie M. Miller, CPA, has earned a promotion to Staff Accountant, Level II at the Harrisburg office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.  She interned with both the State College and Harrisburg offices of the firm prior to her graduation from Shippensburg University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Shannah R. Boring has been promoted to Staff Accountant, Level II.  She earned her degree from Juniata College where she received the 2007 Glen P. Holsinger Award for Academic Excellence in Accounting and the 2008 Charles M. Rice Accounting Prize. She currently works at the State College office of SF & Company, CPAs and Business Advisors.
